For this assignment we had to take an interview clip and rotoscope it so that we could add effects behind the subject. I ended up trying two effects, one with text, and one with the background blurred.

I enjoyed this assignment because I liked seeing how Premiere and After Effects link to each other nicely. I think that rotoscoping is a interesting feature with lots of cool opportunities for effects, but I also think that it takes some time to make it look right.

I was having a hard time getting the mask to conform to her hair and the side of her face, and I still think that it didn’t come out the best and if I were to redo it I would maybe feather the mask more, or spend more time tracking it as the video progresses and change it frame by frame, because it is accurate in some of them.

Overall I enjoyed this assignment, and liked learning about more features and functions that after effects and premiere has, especially when linked together.
