For our final project we had to build on our second observation. We all realized that we spent a lot of time thinking about who we are as people and how to better ourselves, but this thinking could get stressful if we thought for too long with nothing to guide our thoughts.
We decided that it would be great to have an app that helps to mediate our thoughts and make it something that we look forward to doing each day, and make it seem less like a chore. We started by creating ideation maps about what we thought about and where, and then moved onto figuring out who we could design for. We thought our app would benefit anyone who wants to learn more about themselves but get too stressed out when trying to do it on their own. After this, we started coming up with some prototypes for the app and during it we thought it could be a good idea to include something tangible that could connect to the app. We decided to create a fidget toy that could ask you questions for thoughts, while also being able to track how many times you use it a day and how anxious the questions make you by including a pressure sensor. The app design was supposed to have a calming color scheme and feel. We removed a normal timer and instead replaced it with the sun and moon moving across the sky because we felt like a normal timer could make you more stressed. This project taught us how to work together as a team more and helped build our confidence with using Xd.
